Join us at the Desert Museum October 13-19 to celebrate Earth Science Week with giveaways, expert interpretation, and a fun scavenger hunt for the kids! Our Earth Scientists Penny and Anna will be available 9:00-11:00 a.m. each day throughout the week in the Earth Science area discussing maps, minerals, fossils, cave conservation, and careers in the geosciences! Don't forget to visit our incredible Caves!

October 7-11, 2024, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Grades 1-6) To the desert and beyond! Connect with nature at the Desert Museum's Fall Break Day Camp. Campers will explore human relationships with the Sonoran Desert through science, crafts, play, and live animal encounters. Campers will leave with an understanding of their role in the desert and ways to explore nature in their own lives, using science to make their own desert discoveries.

On this week-long tour, ethnologist Jesús García connects the social, cultural, historical, and indigenous aspects of New Mexico. Highlights include Los Alamos, the epicenter of the top-secret Manhattan Project; the bountiful feast celebration day at Jemez Pueblo; the sacred village of Chimayó; and the picturesque Los Luceros Ranch, specializing in traditional crops.
