Organization: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
Description: Join us in learning to identify and remove plants from one of the few known onionweed infestations in the Tucson basin. Onionweed is both a federally and state of Arizona listed noxious weed which is difficult to identify when not in bloom during the springtime. We will also use the opportunity to monitor and map some volunteer African sumac plants which are in the process of crowding out other landscape plants near the wash.

Bring: A smartphone with the Wild Spotter app installed, logged in with an account in your name.
Wear: Comfortable, loose breathable clothing. Bring a visibility/neon vest, if you have one.
Additional Information: We will be spending part of the time on the median of Grant Rd. Even though a Sunday morning will be quieter, we request that only adults who are steady on their feet with good awareness of surrounding traffic take part in this event.

Organization: Arizona Sonora Desert Museum
Description: Help pull buffelgrass from areas surrounding the sheep grazing pens. Only those who volunteer, and are gentle, will have permission to get closer to the animals. You will be using a small pick to dig out clumps of grass.
Meeting Location: Usually we will meet at the lower parking lot of Sentinel Peak Park, but the location could vary. Pay attention to the message being sent out regarding exact location and time.

Bring: Bring a refillable water bottle (FULL) and a pack to carry everything in. We strongly encourage the use of non-disposable water bottles as a pro-environmental measure.
Wear: Wear good hiking shoes, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Additional Information: As mentioned before, there are not specific dates and times yet. Some will be morning, some will be afternoon. When we come up with times, we will send a message a few days ahead of time to all that are interested and whoever is able to show up joins us that day.
