Organization: Stinknet Working Group
Description: A stinknet infestation near the center of town that needs to be removed before the plants set seed. We've made good progress reducing the size of this patch over the last few years. This will be a short event and is great for those who want to learn to identify and remove stinknet.
Meeting Location: Empty lot between W Miracle Mile Romero Rd and the railroad tracks. Details to be shared upon registration.

Organization:
Description: It is a beautiful time of year to be outside, so join us on the west side of town for a morning of hiking and pulling! We will hike cross-country and up a canyon about a mile and a half to arrive at our site. We will be working in the sun, often on rocky slopes and in the wash bottom. All that attend will receive a very cool Save Our Saguaros sticker. You must be in decent physical condition to participate in this event.
Meeting Location: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. We will meet in the breezeway of the Education Annex Building. It takes about half an hour to drive from downtown to the museum. Signs will be posted indicating where to park.

Tools Provided: We have rock hammers, digging bars and gloves.
Bring: Bring a refillable water bottle (FULL) and a snack or lunch, and a pack to carry everything in. We strongly encourage the use of non-disposable water bottles as a pro-environmental measure.
Wear: Wear good hiking shoes, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
Additional Information: If lost, running late, or cancelling last minute call/text Sonya Norman at 520-971-9335 on the day of the hike. DO NOT send an email. Cell reception is spotty once we begin hiking.

Description: Stinknet is popping! The sidewalks in the Stone/Pastime areas have low numbers of stinknet in all stages of growth. Excellent opportunity to learn stinknet and native and non-native look-alikes. (Some potted stinknet in flower will be in attendance as a learning tool.) Thanks to previous years' work, there is not a lot of stinknet. Stay for as long as you want. Show up anytime between 9am and noon, but if We've moved, you'll have to call or text me to find the group.
Meeting Location: Meet at the very south end of the parking lot for Pima Federal Credit Union.

Organization: Quail Canyon HOA
Description: Invasive Plant Removal and Plant ID on the NE side of town. Learn about the invasive plants that threaten our destert and take out your frustrations on buffelgrass and fountaingrass on a beautiful, saguaro-studded slope with views of the Catalina's and Rincon's. You can also learn some native look-alike grasses and see and smell stinknet (grown in pots). It involves a short hike up a moderately steep, rocky slope.

Additional Information: Some wildflowers should still be flowering! It's just west of Kolb, between Snyder Road and Sabino Canyon Road.

Description: Our last pull at this location was so successful, we want to do a repeat! With the help of our volunteers, we managed to clear a good portion of the area where KJs holds it's weekly swap meets last time, but there's still more stinknet out there and it's all in full bloom! Let's pull it before it sets seed!
Meeting Location: Parking lot behind Bisbee Breakfast Club at 4633 Ajo Highway at 9am for carpooling

Organization: Saguaro National Park
Description: Join us at our next buffelgrass bash at Panther Peak! We will hike about a mile to the work site, which promises sweeping vistas of saguaros as far as the eye can see. Work alongside National Park Service staff as we remove buffelgrass and reduce desert fuel loads on your public lands. It'll be good work, good views, and good company. Hope to see you there!

Description: Save Our Saguaros and wildflowers from flammable and invasive buffelgrass. The wildflowers should be out in abundance and you will get into the park for free. Enjoy working with folks who love being outdoors and value our amazing Sonoran Desert. While we dig buffelgrass, we can admire the amazing view of Pusch Ridge.
Meeting Location: Meet at the Main Trailhead at the park. Drive to the end of the road and park wherever you wish. Meet at the picnic tables.

Additional Information: We will hike for approximately 1 mile and work on uneven ground. This activity requires a moderate amount of fitness. We will have a baby saguaro raffle; we have stickers for everyone; and we have a colorful Buffel Slayer T-shirt for anyone who has attended 5 events.

Meeting Location: Parking lot in front of the Sun Tran NW building. We'll be working in drainage basins/channels from SunTran to the Gadsden-Pacific Division Toy Train Operating Museum, which is about a block away.

Description: Join us for a beautiful morning of removing buffelgrass in Tucson Mountain Park! We will hike off trail to an area with buffelgrass plants, dig up the plants with hand picks and digging bars, and carefully pile the plants to decompose on site. Volunteers should be comfortable with physically strenuous work including hiking off trail up and down hills on rocky slopes. We'll provide snacks and drinks when we're finished.
Meeting Location: Details on the specific meeting location within Tucson Mountain Park will be sent a couple days ahead of time. Text or call Amanda if you haven't received an email with meeting location details. A bathroom may or may not be available depending on the meeting location.
